Terms and Conditions

1. Who we are and what these terms cover
LessonSolutions is a service provided by Just-Solutions, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 42024979, VAT NL005439088B10, Panna 3, 5126 DJ Gilze, the Netherlands. In this document "we" means Just-Solutions and "you" means the tutor or practice that creates an account.
These terms apply as soon as you create an account or use the service. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.
These terms do not apply between us and the parents or pupils of your practice. We have no contract with them; you decide what happens to their data. See clause 6 and the data processing agreement.
The Dutch text is the authoritative version. The German and English translations are provided for convenience; if they differ, the Dutch text prevails.
2. What the service does
LessonSolutions is administration and progress-tracking software for the self-employed after-school tutor: you record pupils and their parents, plan standing and one-off lessons, note briefly after each lesson what you covered, rate topics on a five-point scale, produce monthly progress reports and send invoices to parents. Parents get access through a personal link to a portal showing the schedule, shared worksheets, sent reports and outstanding invoices.
We supply the software. The teaching, the content of your notes and reports, your rates and your invoicing remain your responsibility.
3. Plans and prices
There is no free plan. Without an active subscription your existing data stays readable, but you cannot add pupils and the paid features are switched off. The plans are:
- Start — €12 per month or €120 per year: up to 10 pupils, weekly planning with cancellations and make-ups, invoices, your own logo, colour and practice details, and the parent portal.
- Tutor — €24 per month or €240 per year: up to 30 pupils, everything in Start, plus monthly progress reports for parents (including the AI assistance described in clause 9), homework and removing our name from the bottom of what you send.
- Plus — €49 per month or €490 per year: unlimited pupils, everything in Tutor, up to three colleagues and sending from your own domain (after SPF, DKIM and DMARC verification).
Prices are in euro and include VAT. We may change prices; a change takes effect at your next renewal and we announce it by email at least 30 days in advance. If you do not accept the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect.
A 30-day trial at Start-level features is offered at sign-up. At the end of the trial the subscription continues as a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends.
4. Payment, renewal and cancellation
Payments are processed by Mollie B.V. and are also subject to Mollie's terms. We do not store card or bank details; those stay with Mollie.
Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price until you cancel.
Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from your subscription settings. There is no notice period. Please note: cancelling stops future charges and the features of your plan end immediately. Your data remains readable and exportable afterwards, but you cannot add pupils and the paid features are off. We do not refund the remainder of the current period unless mandatory law requires it.
Right of withdrawal. If you take out this subscription as a consumer you have fourteen days to withdraw. Because the service is available immediately, at checkout we ask you to expressly agree to immediate performance and to acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been supplied. If you take out the subscription for your business, this right of withdrawal does not apply.
If payment fails we may restrict or suspend your account after notifying you by email.
5. Your account
You are responsible for your credentials and for everything that happens under your account. Use a strong, unique password and tell us immediately if you suspect someone else has access. Do not share your account: on the Plus plan you can add colleagues, and that is the right way for several people to work in the same practice.
We may suspend an account that abuses the service, endangers its security, or uses it unlawfully.
6. Your role: you decide what happens to pupil data
Everything you record about a pupil and their parents — name, year group, school, date of birth, rate, your lesson notes, your assessments, reports, invoices and worksheets — is somebody else's personal data. For that data you are the controller under the GDPR and we are your processor: we store and process it solely to provide the service to you, and solely on your instructions.
What that means in practice is set out in the data processing agreement. It forms part of these terms and prevails over them in respect of the processing of your pupils' and parents' personal data.
Among other things this means you make sure you have a lawful basis for processing this data, you inform parents about what you record and why, and you handle parents' requests for access, rectification or erasure. We will help you, but we cannot answer them for you: we do not know what you agreed with a family.
This concerns data about children of roughly four to twelve years old. That is why these terms look different from ordinary business software, and why the data processing agreement is not optional but a required part of them.
7. The parent portal
You can create a personal access link per family. Whoever holds that link sees, without signing in, the schedule of that family's children, the worksheets you shared, the reports you sent and that family's invoices, and can send you an absence, a request for an extra lesson, or a message.
The link is deliberately long-lived: a parent will not maintain a password with their child's tutor. That also means the link itself is the key. Send it only to the parent's email address, and revoke it when a family stops, an email address changes, or you suspect the link has been forwarded. Revocation works per family and takes effect immediately for every copy of every link previously sent.
You decide who receives the link and you are responsible for that. We do not check whether the email address you send it to belongs to the right parent.
8. Invoices to parents, VAT and bookkeeping
Invoices you produce with the service are your invoices. We do not collect money from parents: the invoice carries your practice's name, address and IBAN and a payment reference, and the parent transfers the amount directly to you. There is no pay button for parents.
You choose which VAT treatment appears on your invoices (Dutch education exemption, small-business scheme, standard-rated, or the German Kleinunternehmerregelung). We display the wording that goes with your choice, but we do not give tax advice and do not check whether your choice is correct. Have it confirmed by your accountant before you send invoices.
You are responsible for your own record-keeping and retention obligations. In the Netherlands invoices must be kept for seven years. That is why a family with invoices cannot be erased from the service while those invoices exist.
9. Progress reports and AI assistance
From the Tutor plan onwards the service can write a first draft of a monthly report for you. That text is produced by an Anthropic language model based solely on what you recorded yourself that month: the dates, the topics, your notes and your assessments. The model is given the pupil's first name, year group and subject so that the report is about the right child.
Three rules are fixed. The text is always a draft: it lands in the editor and only goes to a parent after you have read it and marked it "reviewed". Nothing is ever sent automatically. And the model may not invent anything: a thin month should read as a thin month.
For this feature your lesson notes about a named child are processed outside the EU, by Anthropic PBC in the United States. It is the most far-reaching processing in this product and it is explained in the Privacy Policy and in the data processing agreement. If you do not want that, do not use the feature: the report editor works without it and you write the first draft yourself.
You remain responsible for what a report says at the moment you send it. A sent report is no longer changed: the parent holds a PDF of it.
10. What you may not do
- Use the service unlawfully, or for data for which you have no lawful basis.
- Record special categories of personal data that you do not need for your tutoring practice — medical diagnoses, religion or ethnicity, for instance. The free-text fields are for teaching notes.
- Share access to your account, or a parent portal link, with people who should not have it.
- Overload the service, scrape it automatically, or attempt to reach another practice's data.
- Resell the service in whole or in part, or offer it as your own product.
11. Availability and support
We do our best to keep the service available but we do not promise a particular uptime figure. We announce maintenance in advance where we can. Support runs by email; we reply on working days as quickly as is reasonably possible.
12. Intellectual property and your data
The software, design and texts of the service are ours. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it for as long as your subscription runs.
What you put in stays yours: your pupils, your notes, your reports, your invoices and your worksheets. We use that data only to provide the service to you. We do not use it to improve products, to train models or for advertising, and we do not sell it.
13. Liability
The service is provided as it is. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event. We are not liable for indirect loss, lost revenue, or data loss you could have avoided with your own export.
These limits do not apply in case of intent or wilful recklessness on our part, nor to the extent mandatory law does not allow them. Nor do they apply to our obligations as a processor under the data processing agreement and Art. 82 GDPR.
14. Term, termination and your data afterwards
The agreement runs for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time from your settings. We may terminate for a serious breach of these terms, or on 30 days' notice if we discontinue the service.
Export your data before you delete your account. What happens to which data afterwards is set out in the Privacy Policy and, for your pupils' and parents' data, in clause 12 of the data processing agreement.
15. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We announce a change that is to your disadvantage by email at least 30 days in advance; if you do not agree you can cancel before it takes effect. Small editorial changes are published here with a new date at the top.
16. Governing law
Dutch law applies to these terms. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands unless mandatory law designates another court. We would rather sort it out together: email us first.
17. Privacy and cookies
These terms are to be read together with the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy and the data processing agreement, which form part of them. Where those documents and these terms differ on the processing of personal data, those documents prevail.
